There is happiness and safety in friendship. It comes in so many different forms, sincerely. I’ve always been a community guy.
I grew up a member of Calgary’s Glencoe Club, lucky enough to be born into the place. I’ve played badminton since I was 3. I’ve lived all but 8 months of my life in homes located within 5 kilometers of each other. I’ve owned a cabin in a lake community since I was 26 years old. My professional career has always been in energy industry information management. The Alex Community Health Centre is the only external board I sit on and it’s been that way for years. I’m a community guy.
I’m in it for the long haul. My name is my brand and my word is my future. I’ll try not to take more than I give, and I intend to be involved in the community building process.
I’m not a silent member of my communities – I’m present and engaged. I care about its people and property. I protect my communities’ norms, rules and values and do my best to follow them myself. It matters because the benefits of community dissolve without care and attention.
I’m a community guy and proud of it.
