Knowing what you are responsible for and honouring your commitments is the mark of a professional. Being clear and decisive about your intent, and communicating successfully is what makes a pro, a pro.

They expect to be held accountable to meet their commitments and they work to help their team members reach their goals.

A pro knows how to identify the possibility of missing a commitment well in advance of actually missing it… and they bring solutions forward to address their challenges.

They work with a sense of personal pride, determination and dedication to success.

A pro uses SMART goals to be clear about what they are expecting from themselves and others, and ensures they have commitment to deliver by all necessary parties.

They communicate frequently, professionally and personally, and align themselves in helping other people succeed. They try their best, every day.

Professionals succeed as a team, but recognize that each individual must perform and deliver. They know there is no free ride in life, they must perform to a high standard…and they do, because they are professionals.

I am a professional because I do what it takes to stay one. It’s a full-time role, just like being a father or husband is. It takes time, dedication and full-commitment.

Are you giving your professionalism enough focus in your hectic life?
