Control and Change

I read a great quote the other day. It really touched on something I’ve experienced.

It read:

“Great ideas alter the power balance in relationships. That’s why great ideas are initially resisted.”

I have a specific appreciation for people, and companies, who struggle with change. My nature is to have control over my environment and to be good at everything I do…and change temporarily threatens both those things. With new things, the balance of power that is familiar to me, is upset.

But, I can tell you from experience that I have survived, and even thrived, following changes that have entered my life. New relationships are formed, and the change becomes ‘normal’.
