Pathways

Pathways in the snow tell a story.
They show you what’s been, but also the travelled ways.
You can dissect the nature of what’s been there before,
And see the stories from the past.

Pathways are sometimes built as they are travelled,
But now a days, many are pre-built, showing us the way,
We mark the path with a ‘go here’ language we all understand,
In the wild, this is done by stomping down the snow.

I stand before so many possibilities,
In this clear field of fresh snow,
The ability to set a course, to be followed,
The responsibility to guide people, well.
