For those who are kind enough to read my writing, I feel I owe you an explanation. You see, things have been busy lately…what a common excuse. But here is mine, for your consideration.

My Mom became ready for a new phase of her life, around the December time-frame last year. It was clear to all of us that moving into an assisted living place was ‘the best next step’.

And so unannounced and unplanned for, I became immersed in the learnings of, and planning for…I don’t even know what to call it…my Mom’s next step…finding a better place for her to live.

“Retirement home living”…

It’s been a lot of work. The learning, the choosing, the business dealing, the planning, the moving…the change. This massive project has been the first 45 days of my 2014…that and my job, my family and well…life.

I’m pleased and happy to announce that last Tuesday my Mom moved into The Staywell Manor in Garrison Woods. She’s generally pretty happy about it…and our family is thrilled to have found such a great place…

I will write again…and more frequently, soon. Family first – I know you understand.
